Do laptop batteries typically fail this quickly?
I’ve had a dell laptop for nearly 2 years (will be 2 this january). The battery started to crap out this summer, drastically having its life reduced. Now, when I unplug it, I’m lucky if it lasts a half hour before completely going dead. Originally lasted like 3 hours. I’ve since heard that letting your battery run out at least once a month is good for it; will doing so prevent such reduction in life in the future? Anything else I can do to preserve a laptop battery’s life?

probeer gebruikend de batterij zo minder mogelijk. Wanneer u kunt, laptop in de muur door AC adapter zonder de batterij direct stoppen
If your using the laptop for extended periods of time near a socket, then remove the battery all together.
The chargedischarge does not work then your battery is probably done for aj.
The chargedischarge does not work then discharging it fully several times in succession this should reset its charge memory then discharging it fully and completely discharge at least once per month is probably done for aj.
