How do you dispose of laptop batteries?

okay so i have an old laptop battery that i need to dispose of. I’ve been all over the internet and cant find an answer. wont some one help?

    If your town does recycling they may also take batteries. Sometimes you will need to take it to the recycling center yourself, but others allow you to put all your batteries in a clear plastic bag and place the bag in your curbside recycling bin.
